Municipalities in Davao del Norte receive additional support for vaccination campaigns

Sto. Tomas Mayor, Hon. Ernesto T. Evangelista and Kapalong Mayor, Hon. Ma. Theresa R. Timbol, receive laptops, additional medical supplies, and equipment from Davao Light.

AMIDST the busy day-to-day operations of the Municipal Office of Kapalong, Davao del Norte, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) and its social development arm, Aboitiz Foundation Inc. turned over laptops and medical supplies and equipment to be used for the COVID-19 vaccination campaign of the municipality in addition to the 500 AstraZeneca vaccine doses previously donated by Davao Light.

Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ma. Theresa R. Timbol gratefully received the donated laptops, medical supplies and equipment from Rodger S. Velasco, President and COO of Davao Light on March 14, 2022, at the first floor of the Municipal Hall of Kapalong.

Dr. Louelyn H. Exala, the head of the vaccination program in the municipality, also attended the turnover ceremony. According to Dr. Exala, more than half of the projected population of the municipality are already fully vaccinated despite the added age range of the Philippines’ vaccination campaign. The additional support of medical supplies and equipment will help administer the vaccines safely and encourage more people to avail of the vaccination program of the municipality.

On the same day, Davao Light also delivered additional medical supplies and equipment for the health officers and volunteers of the Municipality of Sto. Tomas. This is in addition to the previously donated 1,200 AstraZeneca vaccine doses and to the medical supplies and equipment turned over on March 11.

Davao Light recognizes the importance of partnerships between public and private entities, and will continue to support the local government units in its franchise areas, for the promotion of health in communities.
